Staying Fit + Staying Active Staying Healthy!
One of our most popular on-line exercise series, this program provides an opportunity for those unable to do vigorous exercise to use their muscles to stay limber with easy-to-learn stretching and strengthening moves. Classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Mornings from 10am-11am at MRHS, and online (Zoom) for those who prefer to do their workout from home.
Our current Morning Workout Class schedule is as follows:
Mondays, 10am-11am - "Strength Workout" Very light workout designed to stretch and strengthen muscles, mostly while sitting in a straight-back chair. Standing is only used for balance exercises at the end of the program. NO DANCING. Light, 2-3lb. weights are used for several exercises, and can be provided to you by MRHS; please call us if you need them, 212-666-4000.
Wednesdays, 10am-11am - "Chair Yoga" Beginning Yoga program for the mind and body -- to increase flexibility, reduce stress, and tension in your neck, shoulders and back. "You'll Love It!"
Friday, 10am-11am - "Stretch Workout" Similar to Monday's class, this is also a very light workout designed to stretch and strengthen muscles, mostly while sitting in a straight-back chair. Standing is only used for balance exercises at the end of the program. NO DANCING. NOTE: To join any or all of our M-W-F exercise classes online, there is no need to register. Simply log into Zoom using the link from our "Virtual Online Classes" page. All M-W-F morning classes begin at 10am, and you may log-in up to 10 mins. before each session begins.
