Please stop by MRHS to sign letters today!
This past Tuesday, I represented MRHS at the state legislative conference on aging in Albany. The conference was a huge success. Hundreds of aging services professionals came together to present the need for additional funding for aging services to New York legislators. I had the opportunity to meet with our Assembly Member, Daniel O’Donnell, who listened to all our concerns, and offered his support on all issues including immediately sending support for a bill that puts into place measures to stop the financial exploitation of older adults.
Letters to Governor Cuomo and state legislators in their Albany office are needed now - Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state legislature are negotiating a state budget now. Governor Cuomo has until February 20th to change his budget and add $36 million dollars in funding for senior services. It is important that MRHS collect as many letters as we can to send to Governor Cuomo and our state legislators before February 20th. The state legislature can add funds for aging services during budget negotiations.
The residents of Morningside Gardens can help by signing letters to our legislators. Please stop by MRHS, 100 LaSalle Street, Suite MC, to sign letters today!
Sincerely,
Paul Nikolaidis, LMSW
