Using the Internet          Back
       

To navigate through the internet, you will use these tools located at the top of the screen:

 

Will take you to the last web page you visited.

 

When highlighted, this button will take you forward a page (activated after pushing the back button).

 

Stops loading the current page.

 

Refreshes the current page (use if the page did not load properly).

 

Returns you to your homepage (the page displayed when the browser was opened).

 

Use this tool to search online using a keyword or phrase.

 

The address bar displays what web page is currently being displayed. In here, type the address of the site you would like to visit and press Enter.

 

These three buttons appear in the top right corner of every window.The one on the left will minimize (or hide away) the current screen. The middle one will enlarge the current window. The one on the right will exit out of the current program.

 

This is the vertical scroll bar. When a text box is larger than the window, use a scroll bar to view the complete text. Place the mouse over one of the arrows and hold down with the LMB to scroll.

 

This is the horizontal scroll bar. When a text box is larger than the window, use a scroll bar to view the complete text. Click and hold the mouse on the bar between the arrows and drag right or left.

 

Anything underlined and in blue or purple, and changes the cursor to hand when mouse is moved over the text or image is a link to another website or web page.
