Time: Monday Feb. 24 & March 3, 10am -12pm, followed by one hour lunch break & Open Studio Time 1pm-2pm
Taking inspiration from Alexander Calder’s Circus, mobiles, and stabiles, participants will create metal sculptures from a variety of wire and mesh, through bending, twisting and binding. Sculptures can be embellished with beads, fabric and string. After the work is finished it can be manipulated with use of light, to create intriguing shadows, and bent to animate form.

Time: Monday March 10 & 17, 10am -12pm, followed by one hour lunch break & Open Studio Time 1pm-2pm
Bring some old photographs to the studio, take some new ones with a digital camera on site; print, Xerox, collage, then paint and draw over it to create an altered self or family portrait based on found and manipulated photos and magazine cut outs. Play with ideas of how memory is both preserved and transformed into fantasy and fiction.
Workshops are free and open to all, materials/writing tools/postage provided, all skill levels welcome.
