MRHS has been selected by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs’ SPARC Program to host an Artist-in-Residence in 2014. Please welcome SPARC Artist-in-Residence, Anna Adler. Anna was born in Moscow, Russia and moved to the US at age 7. She studied art at New York University and attended graduate school at Cranbrook Academy of Art, outside of Detroit.
Anna creates sculptures, performances and installations, using a wide variety of materials such as clay, plaster, and found objects. She has recently returned to New York from ten months abroad in Czech Republic, where she was on a study grant, focusing on alternative theater. During the course of her residency at MRHS Anna will conduct a series of art workshops and open studio time, culminating in an exhibition and performance this June. She is particularly interested in intergenerational exchange that fosters communication and creativity through art and is very excited to get to know the community of MRHS.
